CheyenneWyoming, is separated from  Transwest Ford by just about 90 miles of highway. The trip up northeast from Cheyenne to our dealership, which takes about an hour and a half, is well worth it for our low prices on new and used  Ford vehicles and our expert vehicle service.

We love the city of Cheyenne, which is Wyoming's capital and the state's most populous city. As of the 2010 census, nearly 60,000 people called Cheyenne home, but more recent estimates put the capital above 64,000.

Things To Do In Cheyenne, Wyoming

There is something in Cheyenne for everyone, from the farmers market to outdoor activities to museums. Below are some of our favorite things to do in Cheyenne.

The Cheyenne Botanical Gardens are beautiful. If you want to feel at one with nature, take a walk through these gardens, and, while there, check out Engine 1242, Wyoming's oldest train. If you are fascinated by trains and similar forms of transportation, you should also check out the Big Boy Steam engine (Old Number 4040), the world's largest steam locomotive, or visit the Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley to get a narrated tour of the city.

If touring the downtown area, stop by the Wyoming State Capitol for a bit of history. The downtown area also offers plenty of shopping, dining, and museum experiences, several of them with a western theme. A highlight is the Cheyenne Depot and the associated Depot Museum.

Like exploring the outdoors? Spend a sunny day at Curt Gowdy State Park or Vedauwoo Recreation Area for hiking, fishing, swimming, water sports, and more. You will also likely enjoy a day spent at Terry Bison Ranch, where you can witness more than 2,300 grazing bison. The ranch also has a full-service old-West restaurant and saloon, ATV tours, and more.
